About the Artist

Sahar Manri is a Vancouver-based contemporary artist working primarily with acrylics. Her work explores the connection between animals, nature, and human emotion through vibrant colors, expressive brushwork, and rich textures.

Drawing inspiration from everyday encounters and the natural world, she is particularly interested in capturing the personalities, movements, and quiet expressions of animals. Her paintings move between realism and abstraction, focusing on the feeling and character of each subject rather than precise representation.

Much of her inspiration comes from personal experiences, from observing birds in nature to watching dogs play in the snow. These seemingly ordinary moments become the starting point for paintings that explore companionship, belonging, and the beauty of everyday life.

Sahar has a background in Graphic Design and holds a bachelor's degree in Art Management, as well as a master's degree and PhD in Geography. Her multidisciplinary education brings a unique perspective to her artistic practice, informing her approach to composition, color, and visual storytelling, as well as her interest in the relationship between living beings and their surroundings.

Through her use of color, texture, and expressive forms, Sahar creates original artworks that reflect her personal connection to animals and the natural world.
